Arpeggiator VSTs – H-arp
I’m digging back into my DAW existence on Windows right now. I have this little small form factor PC running Windows that I was using for my DAW. I’m going through my VST plugins and sorting things out.
BTW the SFF PC is a cute little HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini.
Anyway, back to arpeggiators. I used to use some things back in the day like Piz Plz MidiLooper. I can’t find that again and if I did it probably wouldn’t work on a modern setup. I’m looking around for things and it’s surprisingly hard to find good stuff that I like. I keep seeing recommendations for BlueArp, which doesn’t seem to be working for me.
I found this H-Arp arpeggiator which is touted as being tracker-like. I like trackers so let’s check it out.

Hey this is pretty sweet. I understand how it works. You hit notes, it shows up in the notes pressed list. There are settings for note ordering and priority. The event list gets played from top to bottom. When you press a new note it restarts. Brilliant.
The one thing about arpeggiators that I’m noticing, especially in Ableton, is that you can’t set it up so that it’s just on the same track in front of a synth. The docs were actually useful https://raveystabs.co.uk/manuals/h-arp/daw-setup

There’s the setup.
I really like this thing so far.
