Modular distortion from GetLoFi

Modular distortion from GetLoFi

I was reading through some audio tech blogs and I ran across this modular distortion idea from GetLoFi.

The idea is to make the actual circuit as small as possible. This reminds me a little bit of the current Arduino boards and how some of the shields and breakout boards are really compact.

The other killer thing about this design is that all of the IO pins are handled on a header at one end of the board, and the discrete components (resistors/caps) are plugged into a socket. There is a little socket carrier plug that can be used to create pluggable modules consisting of a set of resistors/caps that go together for a particular distortion profile. Gotta dig this. Reminds me a little bit of my Duncan Convertible amp.
