Korg – the old new thing

I’m digging some of the new stuff that Korg is putting out. They have always been one of the most innovative gear companies in my opinion. I’m not a shill for them, I’m just looking out for cool stuff.

Some of the boutique synth makers like Dave Smith instruments might have some flashier stuff, but from a product design standpoint Korg is killing it. I just worry that they aren’t popular enough for them to continue making this stuff.

The two things that are impressing me at the moment are the new Mini Kaoss Pad 2 and the Monotron analog synths.

I think that we are going to be fighting over some of these little boxes in 20 years the way we are clamoring for TB303s these days. I just have a feeling.
